Reviews: The Details (2012)

Reviews for this film from our members:

  • [New – 4/25] | Luke Bonanno @ DVDizzy.com
    • Excerpt: Many viewers will lament the lack of likable characters or find it difficult to wrap their heads around a tone that moves from feel-good to feel-terrible in a matter of moments. Estes had to expect such criticisms and made peace with them, because he is clearly less interested in making a film that appeals to the masses than making one that contemplates and conveys the complicated feelings of a long-term marriage.
  • MaryAnn Johanson @ FlickFilosopher.com
    • Excerpt: The wacky is forced and unfunny and the misery is nowhere near wretched enough.
  • Mike McGranagan @ The Aisle Seat
    • Excerpt: The longer it went on, the more eager I was for it to be over.
  • Tom Santilli @ Examiner.com
    • Excerpt: The Details takes 20 years of TV sitcom plot contrivances and serves them up on the same hot, steaming plate.
  • Cole Smithey Smithey @ ColeSmithey.com
    • Excerpt: “The Details” reflects America’s modern day cynicism derived from its Government-articulated categorical imperative of rewarding corruption — reference the Bush/Obama two trillion seventy billion dollar bailout as a reward to banks, on top of the many billions of dollars the same financial institutions stole with illicit tactics such as credit default swaps.
