  • David Bax @ Battleship Pretension
    • Excerpt: The directors, brother and sister, cut from their main story to animated bits to stock footage and back at a pace that starts off feeling restless and fidgety, as if they don’t have enough confidence in their project to let it play without gaudy adornments. Eventually, and thankfully, they settle into moving at a pleasantly brisk clip, allowing them to approach with levity their examination of the overlap between what people want out of life and family and what years of tradition have made them think they want.
  • Mark Dujsik @ Mark Reviews Movies
    • Excerpt: The movie offers montage after montage to give us a sense of the hectic nature of this endeavor, while sacrificing our ability to get to know Ravi in any meaningful way.

    • Excerpt: The premise lends itself perfectly to sitcom farce—learning someone optioned the content for just that goal would hardly be surprising—but allowing it to sit as real life makes a huge difference in as far as connecting on a human level. Whether in the grainy, out-of-focus footage of life or the crisp line drawing animations rendering matter-of-fact interviews alive, we see ourselves on-screen because this insane search for a spark is something we all endure for love.
  • Frank Swietek @ One Guys Opinion
    • Excerpt: Engaging but overlong, and at times more than a mite unsettling.
